I began my career in 1982 as an apprentice to oud makers Vasfi Çınlar and Nuri Tutpınar, and after a period of professional practice and a transition into my mastership phase, I established my own workshop in 2004.

All my ouds are handcrafted from start to finish. I do not use ready-made components such as bowls, rosettes, or inlay, and I do not use laser or CNC cutting at any stage of construction.

All instrument wood is naturally air-dried, and my instruments are assembled in an environment with 45–50% relative humidity. All materials are natural, and I use only hide glue for the joints.

The construction of an oud is different from other instruments. Because the fingerboard is fretless, every part of the instrument, including the soundboard, fingerboard, bowl, and even the pegbox, contributes to its overall tonal character.

All of my instruments, oud, lavta, and kanun, are covered by a lifetime guarantee for as long as I continue my professional work. Natural wear, damage caused by impact, the use of unsuitable strings or tuning, and cracks or performance issues resulting from low humidity, which is one of the most harmful conditions for instruments, are not covered by this guarantee.
